Role Description The DFT Engineer role at Green Metrics is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The engineer will design and implement Design-for-Test (DFT) structures, including scan insertion, boundary scan, and built-in self-test (BIST) for complex integrated circuits. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing test plans, creating and validating test patterns, performing coverage analysis, and working closely with design, verification, and product engineering teams to ensure testability and quality targets are met. The role also involves diagnosing test issues, optimizing test flows for yield and cost, and collaborating with manufacturing partners to support volume production. The DFT Engineer is expected to document processes, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support cross-functional projects that align with the company’s sustainability-focused technology roadmap.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Test Engineering with experience in designing DFT architectures and integrating test structures into digital designs.
- Hands-on experience with Test Execution, including developing and running test programs on automated test equipment (ATE) or simulation environments.
- Ability to design, review, and optimize Test Cases, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and structural aspects.
- Practical expertise in Testing methodologies, including Functional Testing of digital and mixed-signal ICs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with EDA tools for DFT insertion, ATPG, scan chain design, and fault simulation.
- Knowledge of digital design fundamentals, RTL, and verification flows; understanding of semiconductor manufacturing and yield concepts is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex test and silicon issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Interest in or exposure to sustainability-focused technologies and data-driven optimization is a plus.
