Job details:
You're the engineer who stabilizes production when everyone else is troubleshooting blind. We need DevOps engineers capable of diving into unfamiliar AWS environments, restoring order from chaos, and driving uptime beyond 99.9% through robust monitoring, automation, and thorough root cause analysis. You'll break down complex projects into single-day increments, deliver production-ready Python or JavaScript, and leverage AI as your force multiplier.
While most organizations talk about "the cloud" while hand-holding legacy infrastructure, we're scaling reliability across a portfolio of dozens of acquired SaaS products—often with departed founders and incomplete documentation. The opportunity: you'll deploy agents and contemporary tooling to understand new architectures 5–10x faster, document your discoveries, and automate them to prevent repeat failures. Rather than judge you by certifications and vendor logos, we'll evaluate how you troubleshoot in real time, author a genuine 5-Whys analysis that identifies one actionable root cause, and create automations that endure in production.
This isn't an L2 "follow the runbook" position. Here, you author the runbooks, architect the progression from dev through staged to 10% then full rollout with soak periods and rollback thresholds, and implement monitors that surface the corner cases. You reject risky changes before deployment. You distinguish infrastructure issues you control from application bugs Engineering controls, and you route permanent remediation to the appropriate team.
You'll operate at the engineering heart of reliability, managing infrastructure initiatives, incident triage and RCAs, and change tickets with copy-paste-ready execution steps. If you've already managed a serious SaaS platform and want to apply that rigor across an entire fleet, join us. Bring expert-level AWS knowledge, production-grade development skills, strict scope discipline, and daily, essential use of AI tooling. If you're prepared to maintain uptime, please apply.
What You Will Be Doing
- Advanced infrastructure migrations, consolidations, production-ready automations, and monitoring modifications
- Diagnosing production incidents, deploying immediate remediation, and authoring root cause analyses with permanent corrective actions routed to the owning teams
- Drafting, validating, and executing production changes, including assessing whether a proposed change can be safely deployed
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Spending time in Jira and perpetual status calls - we reward those who deliver solutions, not just document issues
- Preserving legacy systems forever - you'll be enabled to pursue substantive enhancements
- Waiting through bureaucratic approval layers - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate fixes during incidents
DevOps Engineer Key Responsibilities
- Advance reliability and consistency of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product suite by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
Basic Requirements
- Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
- Experience owning large production infrastructure and troubleshooting production outages independently (not just following a runbook)
- Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day-to-day administration operations
- Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
- Linux systems administration expertise
