Role Overview
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will own and evolve our cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD frameworks, and observability stack. You will play a critical role in ensuring platform reliability, scalability, cost optimization, and security across microservices-based architecture handling high user traffic and transaction volumes.
This role requires strong production experience in scaling distributed systems, optimizing
infrastructure costs, and maintaining high availability for consumer-facing applications.
Key Responsibilities
Scalable Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture
● Design and manage highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure on AWS (preferred).
● Architect multi-region deployments and disaster recovery strategies.
● Optimize infrastructure cost for large-scale e-commerce traffic patterns.
CI/CD & Release Engineering
● Architect and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines ensuring fast, reliable deployments.
● Implement blue-green and canary deployments for zero-downtime releases.
● Improve deployment frequency while maintaining system stability.
Containerization & Kubernetes
● Lead Kubernetes-based deployments (EKS preferred).
● Implement auto-scaling strategies to handle peak sale traffic.
● Optimize cluster performance and resource utilization.
Observability & Reliability
● Build comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging systems (Prometheus, Grafana,
ELK, Datadog, etc.).
● Drive SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
● Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents.
DevSecOps & Compliance
● Implement security best practices across infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
● Manage IAM roles, secrets, encryption policies, and vulnerability scans.
● Ensure infrastructure adheres to compliance and governance standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Partner with engineering teams to support microservices architecture.
● Enable development teams with self-service DevOps tooling.
● Mentor junior DevOps engineers and promote automation culture.
Required Skills & Experience
● 6+ years of experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering
● Strong hands-on experience in AWS cloud ecosystem
● Expertise in Terraform (mandatory)
● Deep experience with Docker & Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
● CI/CD tools: Jenkins / GitHub Actions / GitLab CI
● Strong scripting knowledge (Bash, Python)
● Experience handling high-traffic production systems
● Solid understanding of Linux systems & networking fundamentals
Good to Have
● Experience in high-scale e-commerce or consumer-tech startups
● Exposure to cost optimization for large AWS infrastructure
● Experience with Redis, Kafka, or other distributed systems components
● AWS DevOps / CKA certification
