Position Summary
MRI Software is seeking a Junior Cloud Operations Engineer to support the day-to-day operations of our Azure cloud environments that power our SaaS applications.
This role is ideal for early-career professionals (0–1 years) who have foundational cloud knowledge and are eager to gain hands-on experience in production environments. You will work closely with senior cloud engineers to support infrastructure, monitor systems, resolve incidents, and gradually contribute to automation and improvement initiatives.
This is a learning-focused, hands-on operations role within a structured enterprise cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support Azure cloud resources including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking, and basic PaaS services.
- Respond to alerts and assist in troubleshooting infrastructure and connectivity issues.
- Support routine operational tasks such as deployments, configuration updates, and access requests.
- Assist with managing user access and permissions using Entra ID and RBAC.
- Help maintain Azure networking components such as VNets, NSGs, and basic firewall rules.
- Work with senior engineers on Terraform-based deployments (learning Infrastructure as Code practices).
- Support CI/CD pipeline activities and basic release coordination.
- Document operational procedures, troubleshooting steps, and environment configurations.
- Participate in incident response processes and post-incident reviews.
- Continuously learn cloud best practices, security fundamentals, and operational standards.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 0–1 years of experience in IT support, infrastructure, cloud, or DevOps roles (internships included).
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure fundamentals.
- Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, firewalls).
- Basic understanding of Windows or Linux administration.
- Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell or Bash) is a plus.
- Exposure to Git or version control concepts is helpful.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Nice to Have
- Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification.
- Exposure to Terraform concepts.
- Awareness of cloud security best practices.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD principles.
