About the Role
At Agivant, we're looking for a DevOps Image Engineer who enjoys building clean, reliable infrastructure from the ground up. You'll join a focused, fast-moving engineering POD with a clear mission: delivering a polished library of production-ready OS images for a leading global hosting provider. Every two weeks, you'll ship hardened, fully configured Linux images — automating everything from base OS creation and security hardening to pre-loading complex software stacks (LAMP, LEMP, Docker, Kubernetes, WordPress). You'll own the full image lifecycle: writing the code, validating the output, publishing to OpenStack Glance, and supporting production at L3 level. If you take pride in zero-defect releases and want your work to directly power hosting infrastructure at scale, this role is built for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build and maintain Packer templates and automation scripts (Bash/Ansible) - Harden Linux distributions using CIS benchmarks - Configure LAMP/LEMP stacks and related tools - Integrate CI/CD pipelines and publish images to OpenStack Glance - Build automated testing (Goss, InSpec, etc.) - Handle L3 support and production incidents - Work in Agile sprint cycles
Requirements
Must-Have: - 4+ years DevOps / Cloud / Linux experience - Experience with VPS templates and cloud-init - Strong knowledge of Packer (HCL) and Git - OpenStack (Glance) experience Advanced Linux administration skills - Bash scripting and Ansible (or similar) - Experience with LAMP/LEMP stacks - Docker & Kubernetes setup experience - Strong debugging and L3 support skills Nice to Have: - Experience with ServerSpec, InSpec, or Goss - Background in hosting or multi-tenant infrastructure
