Role Summary
This role is for a specialized Systems Engineer with a DevOps mindset. Unlike standard Cloud Infrastructure roles, this position focuses on the low-level maintenance, build, and deployment of Network OS appliances on bare-metal hardware.
Mandatory Technical Requirements (Must-Haves)
- Linux Systems Internals: Strong command of Debian/RHEL/CentOS environments. Deep understanding of kernel-level features, cgroups, namespaces, bootloaders (GRUB), and rootfs.
- Embedded Build Environment: Deep experience in cross-compilation toolchains (Make, Makefile), ARM64 architecture, and debugging compiled binaries.
- Networking & Hardware Operations: Hands-on experience with White Box switches, ONIE (Open Network Install Environment), and SDN controllers.
- Systems Packaging & Imaging: Expertise in creating standalone installers (ISO, OVF) and managing system-level packages (RPM/Debian) for appliance creation.
DevOps & CI/CD Expertise
- Advanced CI/CD Pipelines: Experience building Jenkins pipelines from scratch (Groovy/DSL) specifically for build and deployment of system-level software, not just cloud applications.
- Lab & Infrastructure Management: Managing build/test lab infrastructure, including KVM virtualization, configuration management (Ansible/Chef/Puppet), and version control (Git/Gerrit/Artifactory).
- Development Support: Experience supporting embedded C/C++ development and testing teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with static analysis tools (Coverity, lint) and memory leak analysis.
- Understanding of modern containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) in edge/embedded contexts.
- Experience integrating AI with DevOps tools.
