About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kubernetes Engineer to join our dynamic team at UST. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing containerized applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Your expertise will be crucial in designing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-native solutions that align with our clients' business objectives. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless deployment processes, robust platform stability, and high availability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps practices, and cloud infrastructure management, with a passion for automation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and related cloud-native technologies. A strong understanding of Kubernetes components such as Services, Ingress, Secrets, RBAC, Autoscaling, and CSI Drivers is essential. Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python is required, along with experience in managing CI/CD pipelines and implementing secure deployment practices. Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, and familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio, will be highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, manage, and optimize containerized applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to ensure high performance and availability.
- Use Helm for packaging, deploying, and managing Kubernetes applications, ensuring efficient application lifecycle management.
- Implement and maintain GitOps practices using ArgoCD to automate deployment workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Support deployment and lifecycle management of applications built with Java Spring Boot and Python, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
- Configure and manage core Kubernetes components including Services, Ingress, Secrets, RBAC, Autoscaling, and CSI Drivers to meet operational requirements.
- Work with service mesh tools such as Istio to manage traffic, enhance observability, and strengthen security within the platform.
- Build, automate, and support CI/CD pipelines to facilitate secure, reliable, and automated application deployment processes.
- Implement best practices for secrets management, platform security, and release management to safeguard infrastructure and applications.
- Automate operational tasks through scripting in Bash, PowerShell, or Python to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure platform stability, scalability, and compliance with security standards.
- Use Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform to provision, manage, and modify infrastructure resources in a controlled and repeatable manner.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cluster, deployment, and application issues in both production and non-production environments to maintain system health.
