About The Role
The Infrastructure Engineer role at FRND is pivotal in modernizing our core systems by transitioning to managed services and enhancing our overall system reliability. This position involves managing and optimizing our production Kubernetes environments, automating deployment pipelines, and implementing capacity planning strategies to support our expanding user base. The successful candidate will play a key role in scaling our infrastructure, ensuring high availability, and resolving complex production incidents through effective root cause analysis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact systems, improve observability, and contribute to the company's growth by building resilient and efficient infrastructure solutions.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have 2-5 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Reliability, or related roles, with a strong background in cloud infrastructure and system operations. Proven expertise in Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and reliability engineering is essential. Candidates should possess working knowledge of ingress/load balancing, container networking, and observability stacks, including metrics, logs, and tracing. Hands-on experience with scaling distributed systems, managing production infrastructure, and reliability engineering is highly valued. A background working on large-scale consumer applications and cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to automation, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of this role include managing infrastructure upgrades and system improvements to ensure stability and performance, maintaining and optimizing production Kubernetes environments, and improving deployment pipelines and release processes for efficiency. The Infrastructure Engineer will drive capacity planning and autoscaling strategies to support user growth and system demands. Handling production incidents promptly and conducting comprehensive root cause analyses to prevent recurrence is a key aspect of the role. Building and maintaining infrastructure automation scripts will streamline operations and reduce manual intervention. Additionally, strengthening performance monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues will be vital. Collaboration with development teams to implement best practices in reliability and automation will also be part of daily responsibilities.
