About The Role
As a DevOps Engineer at Astra Security, you will be at the forefront of our infrastructure evolution, designing, automating, and scaling systems that support our rapid growth and innovative cybersecurity solutions. Your role is critical in ensuring our platforms are reliable, secure, and capable of handling increasing demands. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to embed best practices in cloud infrastructure, automation, and security, enabling Astra to deliver high-quality services efficiently.

You will be instrumental in building and maintaining containerized environments, designing scalable cloud architectures, and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines. Your efforts will directly impact the speed and security of our product deployments, ensuring Astra remains a leader in cybersecurity innovation.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with a passion for building reliable, scalable, and secure cloud systems. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with GCP and AWS in production environments.
- Strong understanding of compute, IAM, networking, and integration services within cloud platforms.
- Experience in building and maintaining container infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ability to design container-based topologies following best practices and well-architected principles.
- Exposure to Service Mesh technologies such as Istio.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and pipelines as code concepts.
- Automation scripting skills in Python and Bash, with a focus on clarity and purpose.
- Knowledge of observability and security best practices, including Prometheus, Cloud Logging, and GCP Monitoring.
- Understanding of reliability SLAs and a proactive approach to incident prevention.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with a sense of ownership and empathy.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-hosted solutions.
- Architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure on GCP and AWS.
- Automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management with Terraform and Ansible.
- Developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and reliable deployments.
- Implementing monitoring and logging frameworks to ensure system observability and quick issue resolution.
- Embedding security measures across all infrastructure layers, including IAM policies and deployment strategies.
- Defining deployment strategies such as blue/green deployments and rollback mechanisms for staging and production environments.
- Writing clean, reusable automation scripts in Python and Bash to support operational workflows.
- Integrating service mesh technologies like Istio for traffic management and enhanced observability.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with overall business objectives.
- Documenting systems architecture and processes to facilitate scalability and team understanding.
- Proactively identifying bottlenecks, driving incident response efforts, and continuously improving system reliability.
