Job details:
You're the engineer who maintains uptime for 50+ SaaS products when others are still figuring it out. We need DevOps architects who can step into unknown AWS environments, restore order from chaos, and drive availability beyond 99.9% through genuine monitoring, automation, and root cause analysis. You'll break down complex initiatives into single-day increments, deliver production-ready Python or JavaScript, and leverage AI as your assistant.
Most organizations talk about "cloud" while manually managing individual servers. We're systematizing reliability across dozens of acquired products where the original engineers have departed and the documentation is incomplete. That's the opportunity: you'll employ agents and contemporary tooling to understand unfamiliar systems 5–10x faster, document your discoveries, and automate them so the same failure never recurs. Rather than evaluating you on certifications and vendor logos, we'll observe how you diagnose problems in real time, produce a genuine 5-Whys that identifies one preventable root cause, and construct automations that withstand production conditions.
This is not an L2 "follow the runbook" position. In this capacity, you author the runbooks, architect the deployment path from dev to staged to 10% to 100% with soak periods and rollback criteria, and create the monitors that surface the corner cases. You reject risky changes before anyone deploys them. You distinguish infrastructure failures you own from application bugs Engineering owns, and you route permanent fixes to the appropriate team.
You'll operate at the engineering center of reliability, owning infrastructure initiatives, incident response with RCAs, and change requests with copy-paste-executable runbooks. If you've already owned a substantial SaaS product and want to apply that discipline to an entire fleet, join us. Bring expert-level AWS knowledge, production-grade development skills, uncompromising scope discipline, and daily, mission-critical use of AI tooling. If you're prepared to maintain operational continuity, please apply.
What You Will Be Doing
- Executing complex infrastructure migrations, consolidations, production-grade automations, and monitoring updates
- Diagnosing production outages, deploying immediate remediations, and authoring root cause analyses with permanent fixes delegated to the appropriate teams
- Authoring, reviewing, and executing production changes, including assessing whether a proposed change is safe for deployment
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Spending your days in Jira and perpetual status meetings - we value engineers who can deliver solutions, not just document issues
- Sustaining legacy systems forever - you'll be empowered to implement substantive improvements
- Waiting on bureaucratic approval processes - you'll have the authority to deploy immediate remediations to resolve incidents
DevOps Architect Key Responsibilities
- Drive reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
Basic Requirements
- Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
- Experience managing production infrastructure at a scale of hundreds of containers
- Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day-to-day administration operations
- Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
