Overview:
Your mission is to establish Xurrent as a respected voice in incident management and site reliability, grow and nurture developer communities, and translate community trust into measurable pipeline influence and market education.
Reporting to the Head of Product Marketing, you will act as the bridge between the developer ecosystem and Xurrent’s product, marketing, and sales teams. This role blends community building, technical storytelling, outbound outreach, and GTM collaboration. The DevRel Engineer is not a support or sales role, but a strategic function that creates pull, trust, and long-term growth.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Xurrent’s developer community strategy across online and offline channels.
- Actively participate in DevOps, SRE, and engineering communities with authenticity and consistency.
- Educate the market on incident management, reliability, and Xurrent’s approach through technical storytelling.
- Research and map prospective accounts, understanding their tech stack, reliability maturity, and business context.
- Conduct outbound community-led and technical outreach to prospective customers and partners.
- Represent Xurrent at conferences, meetups, webinars, and industry events.
- Partner with Sales and AEs to support pipeline growth through trust-based engagement.
- Document developer and customer needs from both technical and business perspectives.
- Feed actionable insights back into Product, Marketing, and GTM strategy.
- Track and report DevRel impact using clear metrics tied to engagement, influence, and pipeline.
- Build long-term relationships with developers, engineering managers, CTOs, and platform leaders.
- Maintain a high bar for credibility, clarity, and usefulness in all external-facing work.
Requirements:
- Proven ability to build trust with developers and technical leaders
- You have excellent public speaking and networking skills
- You have a strong understanding of modern cloud, SaaS, DevOps, and incident management ecosystems.
- You understand people and business and relate well to small and medium business owners, and naturally empathize with the challenges they face every day
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and you can clearly articulate our value proposition to prospective customers
- You have strong research skills
- You have BE/B-Tech/BS/MBA degree or equivalent qualifications
- You understand technology and have a knack of finding creative solutions for complex problems
- You are a self-motivated individual who has a strong desire to build a long-lasting business
- You love working in a fast-paced environment and have overcome objections and rejections from leads on a consistent basis, and tackled opportunities with a competitive mindset
