Role Description
JobDescription: SAGE X3 Functional Analyst - Order to Cash (O2C)
Position Overview
The SAGE X3 Functional Analyst - Order to Cash (O2C) is responsible for designing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing the O2C cycle within Sage X3. This role partners closely with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless order processing, delivery, invoicing, credit controls, and customer account management. This hybrid role combines functional consulting, problem-solving, and L2/L3 application support, working closely with cross functional teams across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, Inventory, and Quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Functional Expertise & Configuration
- Configure and maintain SAGE X3 O2C modules including:
- Customer Master Data
- Sales Quotations & Sales Orders
- Shipment/Delivery processing
- Invoicing & Billing
- Pricing rules, discounts, commissions
- Credit limit & credit management
- Returns/credit notes
- Maintain core setups: document types, parameters, workflows, numbering, validation rules.
- Business Process Analysis
- Conduct workshops with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, and Finance stakeholders.
- Understand As Is processes and design optimized To Be O2C workflows.
- Prepare process documentation, functional requirement specs, and solution design documents.
- Enhancements, Testing & Deployment
- Support enhancements, new features, rollouts, and configuration changes.
- Develop functional specifications for customizations, reports, and integrations (CRM, WMS, payment systems, e commerce).
- Prepare and execute test cases for SIT and UAT; manage defect resolutions.
- Assist with release management, environment promotions, and controlled deployments.
- Collaborate with technical teams for development and testing.
- Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide L2/L3 support for O2C incidents and service requests.
- Diagnose issues in sales order processing, deliveries, invoicing, and customer accounts.
- Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and compliance controls.
- Testing & Quality Assurance
- Prepare test scenarios and lead SIT/UAT cycles.
- Validate workflows, data flows, and integrations across modules.
- Ensure successful deployment of changes into production.
- Training & Documentation
- Create user manuals, SOPs, and release notes.
- Provide training to end users and functional teams.
- Promote adoption of best practices in O2C operations.
Functional Skills
Required Skills & Experience
- 4-7 years of hands on experience with SAGE X3 O2C processes.
- Strong knowledge of the full Order to Cash lifecycle:
- Order entry Picking Delivery Shipment Invoicing Collections
- Experience with pricing engines, credit management, and inventory linked sales operations.
Technical/ERP Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- SAGE X3 parameters, workflows, authorizations
- Query tools, Crystal Reports
- Import/Export utilities (data imports/exports)
- Basic knowledge of X3 development (4GL) is an advantage.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong stakeholder management.
- Ability to multitask and work under SLA driven support environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in IT, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in global or multi entity implementations.
- Knowledge of integration with CRM, warehouse systems, and payment gateways.
