Role Description
Job Description - Junior ServiceNow Developer
Location: Hyderabad / Chennai (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience Required: 1-2 years of relevant experience
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated
Junior ServiceNow Developer with foundational knowledge of the ServiceNow platform to support development, configuration, and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate should have basic hands-on experience in ServiceNow development and a strong willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced delivery environment.
This role will involve working closely with senior developers, business analysts, and project teams to build and enhance ServiceNow solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Configuration
- Assist in developing and configuring ServiceNow applications and modules
- Work on:
- Business Rules
- Client Scripts
- UI Policies
- UI Actions
- Script Includes
- Support development of Service Catalog items, record producers, and workflows
Platform Support
- Perform basic instance administration activities
- Assist in data imports using transform maps and import sets
- Support issue resolution and bug fixing
- Participate in platform upgrades and release activities
Collaboration & Learning
- Work with senior developers to understand requirements and technical designs
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Learn and apply best practices for ServiceNow development
- Document configurations and development work
Testing & Quality
- Perform unit testing for developed features
- Support QA and UAT cycles
- Fix defects and ensure quality delivery
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience on the ServiceNow platform (internships + project experience can be considered)
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of ServiceNow platform
- Knowledge of:
- JavaScript fundamentals
- ServiceNow scripting (basic level)
- Familiarity with:
- ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem)
- Understanding of:
- Tables, forms, fields, and relationships in ServiceNow
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Service Catalog, Flow Designer, or workflows
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and integrations
- Experience with version control tools like Git
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodology
- Exposure to Service Portal or UI Builder (nice to have)
Soft Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt

- Ability to work in a team environment
- Attention to detail
Preferred Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) - (good to have, not mandatory)
