Ashayam Foundation is a youth-driven organization that started in Tirupati with three passionate volunteers and has grown into a network of ten active units across major cities: Tirupati, Guntur, Kakinada, Vizag, Nellore, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kochi. Comprising changemakers aged 18 to 27, the foundation is committed to creating a kinder, safer, and more equitable world for everyone. Rooted in a shared mission and sense of family, Ashayam empowers young individuals to serve society with compassion and purpose.
Role Description
This is a remote unpaid internship – Phase 2 role for Developers to work on Raktamitra, a platform focused on connecting people with blood donors during emergencies. Selected candidates will be expected to take ownership of modules, work with minimal guidance, and actively contribute to core development.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining core features of the platform
- Writing clean, scalable, and efficient code
- Debugging, testing, and optimizing performance
- Collaborating with the team on feature implementation
- Taking ownership of assigned modules and delivering outcomes
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (preferred) or languages such as Java, Python, or C++
- Minimal Experience with HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)
- Understanding of backend systems (Firebase / APIs / databases)
- Minimal Knowledge of database systems such as MySQL, MongoDB, or Firestore
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Ability to independently debug and solve problems
- Strong sense of responsibility, consistency, and accountability
