Role Description The Desktop System Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop systems, laptops, peripherals, and related software across the organization. The Desktop System Engineer will handle user support requests, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, manage operating system updates, and ensure secure, stable workstation environments. Daily activities include coordinating with IT and cross-functional teams, documenting configurations and procedures, maintaining asset inventories, and contributing to continuous improvement of desktop standards. The role also involves implementing best practices for backup, security, and performance, and supporting technology used in Innoknowvex’s learning and collaboration environments.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in desktop and laptop hardware installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
- Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and common productivity tools, including deployment, patching, and user management.
- Experience with system administration tasks such as user account management, access control, endpoint security tools, and antivirus solutions.
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi) and ability to diagnose connectivity and performance issues.
- Familiarity with IT asset management, documentation of configurations, and ticketing or service desk tools.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users, provide timely support, and prioritize multiple requests.
- Experience working in education technology, startup, or dynamic environments is an advantage.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft, ITIL) are a plus.
