Job details:
We are hiring a graphic designer with experience in a pharmaceutical environment. If you've built pharma packaging artwork — cartons, tubes, labels, inserts — then this role is for you.
Umendra Life Sciences manufactures OTC topical and personal-care products — creams, gels, lotions, ointments — for the US and international markets. Packaging artwork is a controlled, compliance-critical deliverable that goes out on regulated products.
We're looking for a designer who treats it that way.
What you'll own
- Develop and control packaging artwork across the full range — cartons, labels, tubes, bottles, jars, sachets, pouches, inserts, leaflets and shippers — from approved regulatory text and customer specs through to print-ready production files.
- Place product names, actives, strengths, directions, warnings, batch details, barcodes and statutory information exactly where regulation and specification require.
- Build print-ready files with correct dielines, bleed, margins, colour separations and resolution.
- Work directly with Regulatory Affairs, QA, Packaging Development, Production and customer-facing teams, folding their comments in accurately through every revision.
- Keep artwork under control — versions, revision history, approval records, master files — so only the current, approved version ever reaches print.
- Drive artwork changes triggered by regulatory updates, change controls, product launches or customer requirements.
- Review printer proofs, shade cards, digital proofs and packaging samples before commercial sign-off.
- Coordinate with packaging-material vendors and printers on proofs, colour matching and print-quality issues.
Who fits
- 3–7 years in pharmaceutical packaging artwork — in a pharma manufacturer, a packaging agency serving pharma, or a regulated healthcare setup. This is non-negotiable, and you'll be asked to show a portfolio of regulated packaging work: labels, cartons, tubes, inserts.
- Fluent in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat Pro and CorelDRAW, and comfortable with vector files, dielines, colour systems, barcodes and print-ready PDFs.
- You can read regulatory text and reproduce it exactly
- Exposure to US OTC / Drug Facts, WHO-GMP, Schedule M, EU or other export-market requirements, and to change-control and document-control practice, is a strong plus.
- Detail-oriented, systematic across many SKUs and pack sizes at once, and steady under deadline pressure.
What this role is not
- Not a brand, marketing or creative-campaign design role — the work is bounded by regulation and specification.
- Not remote and not Ahmedabad-city; it's on-site at our Bavla plant.
- Not for someone new to pharma. Without regulated packaging-artwork experience, this won't be the right fit.
