Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Designer role based in Karur. The Designer will create and develop home textile designs across product categories such as table and kitchen textiles, cushions, seat pads, curtains, and utility products. Day-to-day responsibilities include conceptualizing new patterns and colorways, preparing design sketches and digital renderings, working closely with the product development and production teams, and ensuring designs are aligned with brand standards and customer requirements. The role involves selecting appropriate materials, adapting designs for different markets, collaborating with merchandising and sales to interpret client briefs, and supporting sampling and quality checks. The Designer will also keep up with trends in textiles, colors, and home décor, and contribute ideas to seasonal collections and custom orders.
Qualifications
- Ability to develop creative and practical textile designs for home products, including strong skills in pattern, color, and layout.
- Proficiency with design and visualization tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other textile CAD software) for creating and refining design concepts.
- Understanding of textile materials and processes, especially cotton and blended fabrics, including basic knowledge of weaving, printing, and finishing.
- Attention to detail in translating design concepts to production-ready specifications, with an eye for quality, consistency, and manufacturability.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with product development, production, merchandising, and sales teams.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects, meet deadlines, and respond to feedback from internal stakeholders and clients.
- Relevant education in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in home textiles.
- Awareness of global home décor trends, sustainability considerations, and customer preferences in export markets; prior experience in an export-focused textile company is an advantage.
