Designer — Packaging, E-commerce & Brand Araya Health Private Limited • A Sturlite Group Company
⭐ This is Araya Health's first in-house design hire. You will build the design function.
About Araya Health
Araya Health is a young, R&D-led consumer healthcare company and part of the Sturlite Group. Our flagship brands — Ortho XR and StayEX — have a growing presence across General Trade and online channels, with an active pipeline of new launches. We're building impactful, trustworthy, and clinically proven brands, with a vision of category leadership in every space we enter. Lean team, minimal hierarchy, no design-by-committee. As we step into D2C, design sits at the heart of how our brands look, feel, and are experienced — from the chemist's shelf to the phone screen.
The Role
We're hiring a versatile Designer to be our first in-house design hire. For the foreseeable future, you are the design function — and the foundation on which the design team will be built. The systems, standards, and playbooks you put in place will set the bar for every designer who follows.
You'll partner with our agency to develop master designs for new launches, adapt them across SKUs, refresh our e-commerce visual language across Amazon, Flipkart, 1mg, PharmEasy, and others — and drive the design transformation of our website as we launch D2C.
The core ask:
You must know what makes a pack win on a crowded chemist shelf just as well as what drives a thumb-stop on Amazon. The design language must work in both worlds.
What You'll Own
Packaging
Brief, review, and finalise master pack designs with the agency
Adapt masters across SKUs, variants, and formats
Manage artwork end-to-end — pre-press accuracy, dielines, and full regulatory compliance (Legal Metrology, FSSAI, Ayush)
E-commerce
Refresh A+ content, brand stores, listing pages, and platform creatives across Amazon, Flipkart, 1mg, PharmEasy, Healthkart, and similar
Design performance ad creatives that convert — not just look good
D2C Website & Brand
Co-lead the visual overhaul of arayahealth.com with the agency
Co-create and then own our brand design system
Design posters, banners, and BTL collateral for trade activations
Agency & Stakeholder Management
Act as the in-house design owner: sharp briefs, structured feedback, strong agency cadence
Cross-functional partnership with Brand, R&D, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Performance Marketing
Leading Without a Team
No direct reports on day one — but you'll lead through clarity, conviction, and craft.
We're looking for someone who:
Owns outcomes, not just outputs. Pre-press errors, off-brand listings, and weak creatives are your problem to solve — regardless of who is technically responsible.
Builds the playbook from scratch. Brief templates, approval flows, version control, asset library — assets every future designer will inherit.
Influences without authority across leadership, agency, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Ships and learns. Comfortable making thoughtful calls in ambiguity; prefers progress over over-planning.
Will actively help define the next design roles and shape the team that follows.
Technical Skills
Must Have
Advanced Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat Pro
Intermediate-to-advanced Figma
Working knowledge of CorelDRAW
Packaging Craft
Strong command of dielines, CMYK/Pantone, print finishes, PDF/X output, and Indian packaging mandatories
Hands-on experience with offset and flexo printers
Digital Craft
Amazon A+ and marketplace creative specs; mobile-first thinking
Responsive web design in Figma; familiarity with Shopify or WordPress is a plus
Nice to Have
After Effects / Premiere Pro, Lottie / Rive
AI-assisted creative tools — Midjourney, Adobe Firefly
Esko ArtPro
Who You Are
3–5 years of design experience, ideally with at least one stint in FMCG, OTC/consumer health, personal care, nutraceuticals, or a D2C brand
A portfolio that proves it: shipped packaging (masters and adaptations), e-commerce creatives, and at least one website or D2C project
Channel intuition: equally comfortable designing for a chemist counter and an Amazon listing
Entrepreneurially wired: comfortable with ambiguity, business-aware — you understand price-pack architecture and conversion thinking, not just aesthetics
A clear communicator who can articulate design rationale to leadership, category teams, and external partners
Degree or diploma in Graphic / Visual / Industrial Design (NID, MIT-ID, Srishti, NIFT, IDC and similar are a plus — portfolio matters more than the school)
Some travel to printers, agency studios, and shoot locations is expected.
What's on Offer
Most design roles give you a brief and a deadline. This one gives you a brand to build.
A richer, fuller role — packaging, e-commerce, D2C, brand systems, agency management, all in one seat
Decisions that actually move — flat team, direct access to leadership, no design-by-committee
A seat at the revenue table — pack design wins shelf space, e-commerce creatives drive conversions, and you'll see the direct line between your work and the business
The 0–1 journey, first-hand — new brand launches, D2C build-out, category expansion, all conceived in the room you're in
Outsized ownership from day one — you'll build the design function, not inherit one
Competitive compensation benchmarked to consumer health / D2C standards, with performance incentives tied to brand and D2C milestones
How to Apply Apply via LinkedIn with your resume and a portfolio link (Behance, personal site, or PDF). Applications without a portfolio will not be reviewed.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a short design conversation, followed by a take-home brief.
