Role Summary
As a Designer at Studio Bhaa, you will shape the future of our womenswear Ready-To-Wear collections, driving them from initial concept to finished garment — and staying closely involved through production and execution. The role calls for a dynamic mix of creative vision, technical precision, hands-on factory presence, and collaborative spirit to bring designs to life that embody Studio Bhaa's identity and connect deeply with our customer.
To succeed, you will create innovative, detail-rich pieces that balance experimental chic aesthetics with functionality, quality, and sustainability — and ensure they're executed exactly as envisioned, from the cutting table to the final stitch.
We're a small, close-knit team — which means this role is as much about energy and attitude as it is about skill. We're looking for someone full of life, genuinely passionate about fashion, and eager to grow with us. At Studio Bhaa, a young, design-led house, your contribution will have a direct impact on the creative direction and evolution of the brand — offering you a rare chance to leave an imprint on the landscape of emerging Indian fashion.
What You'll Do
- Collection Development → Shape seasonal collections that feel modern, experimental, and relevant to our customer.
- Creative Research & Ideation → Translate inspiration from global trends, culture, and art into unique sketches and design stories.
- Technical Development → Prepare accurate tech packs, oversee sampling, fittings, and draping to ensure precision and innovation.
- Factory Presence → Be on-site regularly to ensure pieces are being executed to design intent, quality, and fit.
- Design-to-Production Execution → Assist designs through their full journey — from design finalization to cutting and garment construction at the factory.
- Collaboration → Partner with the Creative Director, Buying, and Pattern teams to achieve both creative and business goals.
- Trend Integration → Experiment with fabrics, finishes, and techniques while keeping the Studio Bhaa DNA intact.
- Hands-On Creation → Lead fittings and mock-ups to ensure garments are as functional as they are experimental.
- Design Application → Work on placement prints and design detailing using Illustrator.
- Travel → Travel as needed for pop-ups, exhibitions, and offsite events representing Studio Bhaa.
Who You Are
- Relevant degree or diploma in Fashion Design or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- 2+ year of experience in womenswear (RTW preferred)
- Must have your own functional laptop and iPad to execute daily tasks.
- Proficiency in sketching (hand or digital), with the ability to clearly communicate ideas to pattern, sampling, and production teams.
- Knowledge of textiles and materials, including fabric behavior, drape, hand feel, and suitability for luxury ready-to-wear.
- Experience in research and product development, covering trend analysis, reference sourcing, technical specifications, and fit refinement.
- Willingness to learn factory/production processes.
- Confident in tech packs and sampling-to-production processes.
- Skilled in Illustrator, particularly for placement prints and design detailing.
- Highly organized, punctual, and dependable — comfortable managing both personal and professional commitments with clear, professional communication (leaves, late arrivals, etc. communicated in advance).
- A natural collaborator: communicative, proactive, and solution-driven.
- Above all: full of energy, passionate, enthusiastic, and equipped with a growth mindset — someone who's excited to build something new with a small, hands-on team.
What Success Looks Like
- Collections that are chic, experimental, and distinctly Studio Bhaa.
- Designs that move seamlessly from sketch to final garment — with zero compromise between vision and factory floor.
- Ideas that expand the brand's creative storytelling.
- A studio culture infused with energy, curiosity, and collaboration.
- Reliable, well-managed production timelines with minimal rework.
Compensation
CTC: ₹35,000/month
