Design Systems Engineer & Asset Automation (30h / Remote)

This role focuses on translating legacy Adobe marketing assets into a scalable, rule-based Figma design system built for automation and reuse. Migrating all marketing design assets from Adobe Creative Cloud to Figma and restructure them into a systematic, automation-ready design library. The output must be machine-readable, scalable, and usable for downstream automation (templates, variants, localization, AI usage).

The role is not about visual redesign. It is about translation, systematization, and standardization.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Migration & Translation

• Translate existing Adobe CC files (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) into Figma equivalents
• Preserve visual fidelity while restructuring assets for component-based usage
• Resolve Adobe-specific constructs that do not map 1:1 to Figma

Design System Structuring

• Convert static designs into Figma components, variants, and auto-layout structures
• Define and enforce naming conventions for layers, components, tokens, and frames
• Modularize assets for reuse (logos, UI blocks, layouts, visuals, illustrations)

Automation Readiness

• Prepare assets so they can be:
• Programmatically duplicated
• Auto-localized
• Auto-branded
• Used by scripts, plugins, or APIs
• Ensure consistency required for rule-based and AI-driven automation

Quality & Governance

• Validate migrated assets against brand guidelines
• Identify gaps or inconsistencies in legacy Adobe assets and flag them clearly

Key Requirements:

Technical / Tooling

• Advanced Figma expertise (components, variants, auto-layout, libraries)
• Strong Adobe Creative Cloud background (Illustrator mandatory; Photoshop/InDesign strongly preferred)
• Proven experience migrating or refactoring large design libraries

Structural Thinking

• Ability to think in systems, not single designs
• Experience turning “creative files” into standardized, reusable assets
• High discipline in naming, hierarchy, and consistency

Nice to Have:

• Experience with design tokens and brand systems
• Exposure to design-to-code or design automation workflows
• Familiarity with Figma plugins, APIs, or scripting
• Experience supporting localization, personalization, or large-scale campaign production
• Understanding of how AI tools consume structured design assets
