Role Description The Design Support Specialist role is a full-time on-site position based in mumbai/Ichalkaranji. The specialist will assist senior designers and engineers with preparing detailed drawings, models, and documentation for fenestration systems, building products, and mechanical components. Daily tasks include interpreting design briefs, supporting concept development, updating CAD models, maintaining design files, and preparing technical specifications and assembly details. The role also involves coordinating with internal teams and external partners to gather requirements, resolve design-related queries, and ensure that designs meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing standards. The Design Support Specialist will contribute to prototype reviews, track design changes, and support quality checks to help ensure that products are production-ready.
Qualifications
- Strong CAD and design support skills, including proficiency in 2D/3D design software and technical drawing preparation.
- Foundational knowledge of product and industrial design principles, especially related to fenestration systems, building products, or mechanical design.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, and manufacturing documents.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills to support design feasibility, tolerance checks, and basic design calculations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with designers, engineers, suppliers, and fabrication partners.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple design tasks and deadlines.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related technical field.
- Experience or familiarity with aluminium/uPVC window and door systems, facades, or industrial products is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in Ichalkaranji and support hands-on coordination with manufacturing and fabrication teams.
