The Role

The Billing Specialist's goal is to ensure that our financial operations are as smooth as our design services. Scope of Work

• 2+ years of experience in a finance or accounting function.
• Deep knowledge of payment processing software; Stripe is preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting, optimizing, and providing creative solutions in payment processing platforms.
• Possession of a solid, almost nerdy love for billing and accounting principles, speaking “billing” and “accounting” fluently, as if they were your native languages.
• Strong analytical skills are essential, with a knack for turning numbers into actionable insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial, with the ability to explain complex billing information clearly and simply.
• Extreme attention to detail, finding and fixing the smallest errors that others might miss, ensuring precision in every aspect of your work.
• Ability to work autonomously, thrive in a remote environment, take initiative, and be a self-starter.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are a must, with a talent for making meaningful connections with a variety of personalities, even through a screen.
• Master of time management, juggling multiple tasks, reprioritizing on the fly, and always staying cool under pressure.
• A relentless desire to learn, improve, and innovate while rooted in standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  
  

Ideal Profile

• Address a broad spectrum of billing requests, including providing quotes, processing new customer orders, processing refunds, completing customer documentation requests, and answering intracompany queries.
• Create, enforce, and adhere to billing SOPs, as well as update and publish new procedures as changes develop.
• Collaborate with customers and team members across departments to research and resolve payment disputes
• Manage collections for overdue customer accounts, including identifying past due accounts, and managing outreach until payment is secured. Must work closely and effectively with customers and departments to resolve billing issues.
• Collaborate across departments to implement billing updates and improve the overall efficiency of our billing processes.
