Role Description The Design Manager – Workspace is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for leading the end-to-end design process for workspace and commercial projects. This role oversees concept development, space planning, and design detailing, ensuring that all design solutions align with client requirements, brand standards, and local regulations. The Design Manager collaborates closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to integrate design intent with build feasibility, timelines, and budgets. Day-to-day tasks include managing design teams, reviewing and approving drawings and presentations, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and conducting site visits to monitor design implementation. The role also involves mentoring junior designers, maintaining design quality benchmarks, and contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in workspace and commercial interior design, including space planning, concept development, and design documentation.
- Proficiency in relevant design and visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D visualization tools, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Demonstrated experience leading design teams, managing multiple projects, and collaborating cross-functionally with architecture, engineering, and project management.
- Solid understanding of building codes, materials, finishes, ergonomics, and modern workplace standards.
- Excellent stakeholder management, client communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate business needs into design solutions.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities, with attention to detail and a focus on quality and outcomes.
- Experience in design and build or turnkey workspace projects, ideally within GCCs, healthcare, or complex commercial environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field, with several years of relevant design management experience.
