Role Description The Design Manager ELV is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing end-to-end design and engineering of ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems for data centres, smart buildings, and mission-critical facilities. This role includes leading the preparation of detailed system designs, layouts, and technical drawings for solutions such as CCTV, access control, fire alarm, BMS, structured cabling, and integrated security systems in line with project requirements, codes, and standards. The Design Manager ELV will collaborate with sales, project management, and commissioning teams to perform site surveys, define technical scope, prepare BOQs, and support tender documentation and technical proposals. Day-to-day activities involve reviewing and validating designs, coordinating with OEMs and vendors for product specifications, ensuring compliance-driven engineering, and optimizing solutions for uptime, safety, and performance. The role also entails mentoring design engineers, establishing design best practices, and supporting execution teams during installation, testing, and commissioning to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong ELV design expertise across systems such as fire alarm, gas suppression, CCTV, access control, BMS, structured cabling, and integrated security solutions.
- Proficiency in design tools and documentation, including CAD software, layout preparation, schematics, BOQ development, and technical proposal writing.
- Sound knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and compliance requirements for mission-critical infrastructure, data centres, and life safety systems.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams, OEMs, and vendors, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline; advanced certifications in ELV, BMS, or data centre infrastructure are an advantage.
- Prior experience in system integration or critical infrastructure projects, preferably in data centres, smart buildings, or large commercial facilities.
