We are looking for Design Manager for our Shaya brand who will lead the team in conceptualizing and developing innovative, market-leading jewellery collections. Will oversee the entire design lifecycle—from initial mood boards and hand sketches to 3D CAD development and final technical handovers for production. The goal is to maintain the brand’s aesthetic DNA while driving commercial success through trend- right, manufacturable designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Creative Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire the team of designers. Foster a culture of innovation while ensuring all designs align with the Shaya’s core identity.
- Collection Strategy: Develop seasonal design themes and & "storytelling" concepts. Translate market trends, consumer insights, and sales data into actionable design briefs.
- Technical Oversight: Review and approve technical drawings and CAD files. Ensure designs are optimized for production, weight targets, and stone-setting requirements without compromising the aesthetic.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Category and Sourcing teams to ensure designs meet price-point targets and material availability.
- Prototyping & Sampling: Oversee the sample development process, working closely with vendors and manufacturers to refine prototypes until they meet quality standards.
- Trend Forecasting: Stay ahead of global fashion and jewellery trends, attending trade shows and conducting competitive market research.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Jewellery Design
- 6+ years of jewellery design experience, including 2+years in managerial role.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Rhino, Matrix, or JewelCAD, CoralDraw.
- Strong understanding of precious metals, gemstones, and jewellery manufacturing processes (casting, stamping, handmade).
- Strong stakeholder management presentation, & cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to resolve production & technical challenges effectively
