The Design Manager will lead the engineering and design activities related to transmission line lattice towers for HV/EHV power transmission projects. The role involves managing structural design, optimization, detailing, design verification, coordination with clients and consultants, and ensuring compliance with applicable national and international standards
The candidate should possess strong expertise in transmission tower design, load calculations, PLS-TOWER analysis, fabrication drawings, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Lead the complete design process for transmission line lattice towers including guy towers. (33kV to 765kV or higher).
Perform structural analysis and design of suspension, tension, terminal, and special towers.
Review and approve tower geometry, member forces, connection designs, and foundation loads.
Ensure designs comply with applicable standards such as: o IS Codes o IEC o ASCE o CSA o Utility/client specifications
Optimize tower weight and design for cost efficiency and manufacturability.
Review wind loading, seismic loading, and electrical clearance requirements.
Software & Technical Expertise Use and supervise design activities using:
PLS-TOWER
PLS-CADD
STAAD Pro
AutoCAD
Review design calculations, tower schedules, BOMs, and fabrication drawings.
