Job Description: Design Lead (UI/UX, Video, and Graphic Design)

Role Overview
Lead a multi-disciplinary design function spanning UI/UX, video/motion, and graphic design to shape end-to-end learner experiences and brand presence across products and campaigns. You will own design strategy, hands-on execution, team leadership, and outcomes tied to engagement, conversion, and brand consistency across millions of users.
Position Details
- Compensation: Competitive — based on skills, experience, and portfolio strength
- Location: Bengaluru — Work from Office
- Employment: Full-Time | Work Days: 6 days/week (Sunday off) | Hours: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Experience: 5+ years in UI/UX and video design (lead experience preferred)
- Education: Bachelor’s in Design/HCI/Multimedia/Animation/Fine Arts or equivalent practical experience
Key Responsibilities
- UI/UX Design
- Own UX strategy and design for websites, landing pages, mobile apps, dashboards, and internal tools.
- Translate research and business goals into user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI.
- Build and maintain a scalable design system; collaborate closely with product and engineering, including handoff specs, tokens, and component libraries.
- Improve engagement and task success through iterative testing, accessibility best practices, and data-informed refinements.
- Video, Motion, and Editing
- Lead creative direction for educational videos, marketing assets, reels/shorts, explainers, and motion graphics.
- Produce video landscapes, thumbnails, intro/outro packages, lower-thirds, and kinetic type; maintain on-brand motion guidelines.
- Collaborate with content, growth, and social teams to deliver performant assets with fast turnaround.
- Graphic Design and Branding
- Create high-quality brand and campaign assets: social media creatives, ads (static/animated), email graphics, infographics, banners, and event collateral.
- Ensure brand coherence across channels with strong typography, color, layout, and art direction.
- Partner with copywriters/marketers to craft compelling narratives and visual storytelling.
- Growth, Landing Pages, and CRO
- Design and publish high-converting landing pages for campaigns, cohorts, and product launches.
- Run A/B tests on layouts, messaging hierarchy, forms, and CTAs; iterate using analytics and heatmaps.
- Collaborate on SEO/SEM and lifecycle campaigns; ensure performance tracking via UTMs and event tagging.
Team Leadership and Process
- Manage and mentor a team of product designers, graphic designers, and video editors; set quality bars and review work.
- Drive outcomes across different designers and creative visual associates — align individual strengths to business goals, track performance metrics (engagement, conversion, retention), and ensure consistent creative output across all verticals.
- Plan capacity, prioritize roadmaps, and ensure timely delivery across product and marketing pipelines.
- Evolve design processes: briefs, critiques, QA, asset management, and documentation; contribute to hiring.
Portfolio Requirements
Share a Portfolio That Demonstrates
- UI/UX case studies: websites, mobile apps, dashboards, design systems, and landing pages (include problem, process, impact/metrics).
- Video/motion: edited videos, reels/shorts, motion graphics, thumbnails, and motion guidelines.
- Graphic/branding: campaign kits, ad creatives, social carousels, email banners, and presentation systems.
- Before/after redesigns and outcomes (e.g., CTR, CVR, watch time, retention) where available. Preferred platforms: Behance, Dribble, personal site, or organized Drive/Dropbox links.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Tools: Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects.
- UI/UX: Information architecture, interaction design, usability, accessibility, and prototyping.
- Motion/Video: Motion graphics, editing, sound basics, thumbnail strategy, aspect ratios/platform specs.
- Graphic Design: Strong command of typography, layout systems, color, and brand development.
- Web & Handoff: Familiarity with component libraries and design-to-code workflows; basic HTML/CSS; developer-ready specs.
- Communication: Clear storytelling, stakeholder presentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Execution: Ability to manage multiple projects with speed and quality.
Nice to Have
- Tools: Lottie, Principle, Rive; Webflow/Framer or equivalent site builders; familiarity with React component libraries.
- Analytics & CRO: GA4, Mixpanel, Hotjar, Tag Manager, UTM strategy; A/B testing and experiment design.
- Domain: EdTech/B2C/SaaS experience; design sprints and workshop facilitation; accessibility and localization.
- Understanding of performance marketing needs (ad specs, creative testing, hooks, and messaging hierarchies).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design/Multimedia/Animation or related field.
- 3-6 years of relevant experience across UI/UX, video, and graphic design.
- Prior team leadership or mentorship experience; shipped products and campaigns at scale.
- EdTech experience is an advantage.
