Job Description – Design Head
Department: Interior Design & Architecture
Location: V. V. Puram, Bangalore

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Design Head to lead our Interior Design and Architecture team. The candidate will be responsible for driving design excellence, managing the design team, overseeing projects from concept to completion, and ensuring that all projects meet the company’s standards for creativity, quality, functionality, and client satisfaction.
The role requires strong leadership, design expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work closely with clients, architects, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of interior designers and design support staff.
• Build a collaborative, creative, and high-performance design culture.
• Allocate projects and responsibilities within the design team.
• Conduct regular team reviews and monitor individual and team performance.
• Provide guidance and support to team members on design and project-related challenges.
2. Design & Creative Direction
• Lead the conceptualization and development of high-end interior design projects.
• Review and approve design concepts, layouts, 3D models, drawings, and presentations.
• Ensure design solutions meet client requirements while maintaining the company’s design standards.
• Encourage innovative and creative design approaches.
• Stay updated on the latest interior design trends, materials, finishes, and technologies.
3. Project Management
• Oversee design projects from concept development through execution.
• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Coordinate with architects, project managers, site engineers, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or design-related issues.
• Ensure smooth coordination between the design and execution teams.
4. Client Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
• Understand client requirements, preferences, and expectations.
• Lead client presentations and design discussions.
• Handle client feedback, revisions, and design concerns professionally.
• Ensure a high level of client satisfaction throughout the project.
5. Quality Control
• Review design deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
• Ensure drawings, BOQs, material selections, and design specifications are properly coordinated.
• Conduct site visits to ensure design intent is maintained during execution.
• Identify and resolve design and execution issues in coordination with the relevant teams.
6. Strategic Planning
• Develop and implement design strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the Design Department.
• Identify opportunities to improve design processes, workflows, and team performance.
• Collaborate with other department heads to ensure smooth coordination across the organization.
7. Budget & Resource Management
• Assist in preparing and managing project design budgets.
• Ensure effective and cost-conscious use of design resources.
• Coordinate with procurement and execution teams to ensure design selections are commercially viable without compromising design quality.
8. Compliance & Standards
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Ensure proper documentation and design approvals are maintained.
• Promote quality, safety, and professional standards across all projects.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Interior Design/Architecture.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
• Experience in high-end residential, luxury interiors, or premium design projects is preferred.

• Good knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Preferred Candidate
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-end/luxury interior projects.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a design team.
• Strong understanding of both design and execution.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Creative, organized, proactive, and result-oriented.
