Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Design Head to lead and manage end-to-end HVAC and Ducting design projects including HVAC systems, VRV/VRF systems, ducting layouts, fabrication detailing, and electrical mapping. The role involves complete project ownership from concept design to execution, ensuring technical accuracy, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the HVAC design department and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Finalize HVAC layouts, VRV/VRF system designs, duct routing, equipment selection, and ventilation systems.
- Perform load calculations, duct sizing, airflow analysis, and system optimization.
- Oversee preparation and approval of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Manage duct fabrication detailing and ensure compliance with technical standards.
- Calculate electrical road sheet & coordinate with another services vendor.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting teams for smooth integration.
- Review and finalize BOQs, quantity take-offs, and support procurement activities.
- Conduct site visits to ensure execution aligns with approved designs and resolve technical challenges.
- Lead, mentor, and manage designers, engineers, and drafting teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).
- 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in HVAC industry.
- Proven experience handling VRV/VRF systems, ducting, and large commercial or industrial projects.
- Prior experience in leading a design team and managing complete project lifecycle.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in HVAC design and execution.
- In-depth knowledge of VRV/VRF systems and duct fabrication detailing.
- Good understanding of electrical load calculations and HVAC electrical mapping.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (BOQ preparation, costing, reporting).
- Familiarity with HVAC standards and building codes.
