We are looking for a highly versatile Design Generalist who is comfortable moving between UX design, graphic design, and industrial/product thinking. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across disciplines and can contribute to both digital and physical product experiences.
Role Description
As a Design Generalist at Sciverse, you will work closely with founders, engineers, and product teams to shape user experiences across software, branding, and hardware-oriented products. You should have strong fundamentals in UX and visual design, along with curiosity or exposure toward industrial/product design. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems visually, thinking systemically, and working in fast-moving product environments.
Key Responsibilities
UX & Product Design
- Design intuitive user flows, wireframes, and user interfaces for web and mobile products.
- Conduct user research, usability thinking, and interaction design exploration.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve user experience.
- Create design systems, reusable components, and interface guidelines.
Graphic & Visual Design
- Develop visual assets for branding, presentations, social media, websites, and marketing.
- Create clean, modern, and consistent visual communication across platforms.
- Support storytelling through layouts, illustrations, motion, and visual hierarchy.
- Maintain brand consistency across internal and external materials.
Industrial / Product Thinking
- Contribute to physical product ideation, form exploration, and concept visualization.
- Assist in product renders, mockups, packaging, or basic CAD-based thinking where needed.
- Collaborate with hardware and engineering teams to align product aesthetics with functionality.
- Bring sensitivity toward ergonomics, usability, and product experience.
Collaboration & Execution
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams.
- Translate ambiguous ideas into structured visual concepts.
- Manage multiple design tasks across digital and physical products.
- Present design rationale and iterate quickly based on feedback.
Requirements
Must Have
- Strong understanding of UX/UI fundamentals.
- Good graphic design and visual communication skills.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to think across both digital and physical product experiences.
- Strong sense of layout, typography, color, and interaction design.
- Portfolio showcasing UX + visual design work.
Good to Have
- Exposure to industrial/product design workflows.
- Basic understanding of CAD tools, rendering, or prototyping.
- Experience with motion graphics, 3D visualization, or branding systems.
- Familiarity with startup environments and fast iteration cycles.
