About the role

Position Summary

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Support the cutting department by hand cutting leather in addition to assisting with fabric patterns and stripes as needed.

Essential Functions

• Use manual scissors or powered cutting tools to cut leather. • Will assist with cutting fabric as needed. • Mark or discard items with defects such as spots, stains, scars, snags, chips, scratches, or unacceptable shapes or finishes. • Trim excess material or cut threads off finished products. • Mark cutting lines around patterns or templates, or follow layout points, using squares, rules, and straightedges, and chalk, pencils, or scribes. • Unroll, lay out, attach, or mount materials or items on cutting tables or machines.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous hand cutting experience required in leather is required. 5 years’ minimum experience. • Read, learn and follow training, adhere precisely to written procedures • Problem solving skills • Must be able to follow detailed instruction, inspection procedures and product appearance • Work quickly on your own or in a team • Must be able to stand on your feet for 8-9 hours.
