Job Description
- Develop concept or tenderdesigns basis the client approved specifications or DBRs.
- Develop accurate cost estimatesfor BMS projects, considering labor, materials, and integration costs.
- Support sales activities byassessing project requirements and proposing cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare and review biddocuments, ensuring alignment with client specifications and industrystandards.
- Maintain deep knowledge of BMSarchitectures, including Niagara AX, N4, and associated components.
- Understand HVAC controlstrategies, automation protocols, and system integration requirements.
- Evaluate products to ensurecompliance with client-approved specifications.
- Perform project take-offs andprepare cost estimates using CBRE tools.
- Ensure profitability bymaintaining company margins in all estimates and proposals.
- Evaluate design alternativesfor cost, profitability, and system performance.
- Work closely with sales,engineering, and project teams to refine proposals and optimize coststructures.
- Collaborate with vendors andsuppliers to obtain pricing and validate component feasibility.
- Attend project kickoff meetingsand provide estimation insights for execution planning.
- Continuously identify andreport on efficiencies in estimating, design, submittals, purchasing, andoperations processes.
- Conduct site assessmentswhen required to gather project detailsand validate assumptions.
- Prepare detailed scope-of-work (SoW) documentation, ensuring clarity for all stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor’s in engineering
Preferred: Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation & controls or Controls engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in BMS/HVAC design or estimation role.
Skills
Excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrated strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Advanced skills in Microsoft office software.
Quick to learn and adapt to new tasks and environments.
Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
