About The Role

The BMS Design Engineer role at Jobstronaut offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work remotely and contribute to the design and development of Building Management System (BMS) solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing BMS tools tailored for HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, rooftop units, fan coil units, and variable air volume systems. Additionally, the role involves working on industrial automation tools such as SCADA, PLC, and HMI configurations, as well as instrumentation and electrical maintenance for existing systems across diverse industries. This position requires a proactive individual capable of coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams, ensuring technical compliance, and supporting project execution from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2-3 years of proven experience in BMS design, particularly with HVAC products and systems.
• Strong understanding of BMS/HVAC components and automation tools including SCADA, PLC, and HMI.
• Experience in preparing technical documentation, including datasheets, drawings, and BOQs.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to liaise effectively with project teams and vendors.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant design tools.
• Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and electrical maintenance practices.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Review Request for Proposal (RFP) documents to verify completeness and identify additional information requirements.
• Develop detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs), Scope of Work, assumptions, and considerations for each project.
• Generate technical documentation, including datasheets, preliminary architecture layouts, schematics, and drawings.
• Record comments and revisions during the review process, ensuring proper version control and updates.
• Obtain approvals for technical submittals and coordinate with manufacturing teams for procurement activities.
• Prepare and provide engineering BOQs with detailed specifications to project teams for purchase and fabrication.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to review approved drawings, verify material selections, and update drawings as needed.
• Ensure technical compliance of materials and systems as per project specifications and standards.
• Support procurement and design teams in selecting alternative materials to optimize project outcomes.
• Assist in electrical instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting for existing systems across various industries.
• Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
