Design Engineer – Sheet Metal & Modular Furniture SystemsLocation: Bangalore

About the RoleWe are looking for a Design Engineer with strong expertise in sheet metal design for production, along with working experience in modular furniture systems.
This role is primarily focused on designing fabrication-ready sheet metal components and assemblies, while also contributing to modular furniture design and integration. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across both domains, with a clear strength in metal design and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies for production.
- Prepare fabrication drawings, flat patterns, bend details, and assembly drawings.
- Design and detail modular furniture systems (workstations, storage, cabinets).
- Generate cutlists, panel drawings, and production drawings for furniture.
- Create and manage BOMs for both metal and panel-based components.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and material utilization.
- Work closely with fabrication, CNC, and installation teams.
- Support prototyping, production issues, and site-level modifications.
- Ensure accuracy in 2D drawings and 3D models for execution.
Required Qualifications- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 4–6 years of experience in sheet metal design, with exposure to modular furniture.
Required Skills (Must-Have)- Strong experience in sheet metal design (bending, tolerances, fabrication practices).
- Hands-on knowledge of flat pattern development and press brake considerations.
- Ability to create detailed fabrication drawings and production documentation.
- Working experience in modular furniture / panel-based design.
- Knowledge of cutlists, panel detailing, and furniture hardware systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes: CNC cutting, bending, welding, assembly.
Preferred Skills- Experience in office furniture systems / workstation design.
- Familiarity with nesting or CNC programming tools.
- Exposure to turnkey interior or project-based execution.
