Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Design Engineer role based in Ahmedabad. The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing lighting products, from concept through to production, ensuring performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Day-to-day tasks include creating and revising CAD models and drawings, collaborating with mechanical and electrical engineering teams, and supporting prototype development and testing. The role also involves optimizing designs for manufacturability, coordinating with production and quality teams, and contributing to continuous improvement of existing product lines. The Design Engineer will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that products meet technical specifications, regulatory standards, and customer expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design, with the ability to convert requirements into practical, manufacturable solutions.
- Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering principles, including materials, tolerance analysis, and mechanical systems relevant to lighting products.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for 3D modeling and technical drawings.
- Understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts related to lighting, such as LEDs, drivers, circuits, and safety standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to work on-site in Ahmedabad, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and safety.
- Prior experience in lighting, consumer electronics, or related product design is an advantage.
