Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Design Engineer role based in Ahmedabad. The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing conveyor systems and related components, ensuring that solutions meet client specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. Daily tasks include creating and modifying detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, preparing engineering drawings, and collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and production teams to translate concepts into manufacturable designs. The role involves performing basic calculations, assisting in product optimization for cost and performance, and supporting prototype development and testing. The Design Engineer will also participate in design reviews, document technical changes, and provide technical support during installation and commissioning when required.
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in core engineering disciplines, including Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to conveyor and material handling systems.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating 2D drawings and 3D models, with attention to detail, manufacturability, and standard drafting practices.
- Understanding of Electrical Engineering fundamentals as they relate to conveyor systems, including integration of motors, sensors, and control elements in coordination with electrical teams.
- Experience or strong interest in Product Design, including concept development, design optimization, and support through the product life cycle.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering standards, and client requirements, and translate them into effective design solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an on-site environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document designs and participate in technical discussions with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience in conveyor, material handling, or industrial equipment design is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
