About The Role
As a Hardware Engineer at Qualcomm, you will be integral to the design, development, and verification of complex electronic systems that underpin next-generation devices and platforms. Your role involves planning, designing, optimizing, and testing various hardware components, including circuits, mechanical systems, and integrated systems involving Digital, Analog, RF, and optical technologies. You will work on bringing-up yield, integrating third-party IP, and ensuring seamless system performance at the silicon level. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as firmware, software, and systems engineering is essential to meet stringent performance, power, and quality standards. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related fields, with extensive industry experience. A Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience, a Master’s degree with 5 years, or a PhD with 4 years of experience in Hardware Engineering or related areas is required. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in RTL design, synthesis, and verification, along with a deep understanding of high-speed peripheral interfaces, PHY protocols, and SoC-level integration. Experience working with advanced technology nodes such as FinFET and GAA, knowledge of physical design and signoff methodologies, and expertise in low power design techniques are highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and excellent communication abilities are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop RTL code for complex hardware modules, ensuring functionality, performance, and power efficiency.
- Perform synthesis, functional and formal verification to validate hardware designs against specifications.
- Develop and implement timing constraints for static timing analysis (STA) and ensure successful timing signoffs.
- Design and optimize high-speed peripheral interfaces, PHY protocols, and standards, ensuring compliance and performance.
- Integrate third-party IPs and collaborate with vendors to meet feature requirements, SOW, and signoff criteria.
- Participate in SoC-level integration, including partitioning and multi-die design considerations for advanced technology nodes.
- Contribute to physical design activities, including floorplanning, placement, routing, and signoff processes.
- Develop low power methodologies and IP specifications, implementing power-saving techniques across designs.
- Stay updated on the latest technological advancements, particularly in FinFET and GAA processes, and incorporate best practices into design workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and validate hardware solutions, ensuring delivery of high-quality products.
