About The Company
Phinity is at the forefront of innovating hardware engineering processes by leveraging artificial intelligence and automation. Our mission is to empower laboratories and research institutions in building artificial general intelligence (AGI) by creating sophisticated environments that facilitate the training of agents on complex hardware design and verification tasks. We collaborate with some of the most prominent frontier labs, contributing to groundbreaking advancements in semiconductor development and AI integration. Our approach combines cutting-edge technology with a deep understanding of hardware engineering challenges, enabling us to deliver solutions that accelerate research and development cycles in the semiconductor industry.
About The Role
We are seeking experienced hardware engineers to join our dynamic team and work closely with frontier lab researchers. This role involves designing and verifying high-quality RTL (Register Transfer Level) challenges that accurately reflect real-world semiconductor development scenarios. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RTL design, verification, and debugging, and will be instrumental in creating environments that facilitate effective agent training for hardware design workflows. This position offers the flexibility of remote or hybrid work arrangements and is suited for professionals who thrive in innovative, collaborative, and fast-paced settings. You will have the opportunity to contribute to pioneering projects that push the boundaries of AI and hardware engineering, making a tangible impact on the future of technology.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess at least 2 years of experience in RTL design using Verilog or SystemVerilog, or VHDL. A strong familiarity with verification methodologies such as UVM (Universal Verification Methodology), testbench development, and simulation is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with synthesis, timing analysis, and debugging tools, as well as proficiency with industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools from Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics. Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication are crucial, especially when collaborating with researchers who may not have a hardware background. A curiosity about AI and machine learning applications in hardware design, coupled with a self-motivated and independent work ethic, will help candidates excel in this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain realistic RTL design and verification problems that mirror industry complexity and adhere to best practices.
- Create, optimize, and manage containerized environments to support agent training tasks within hardware design workflows.
- Collaborate directly with frontier lab AI researchers to understand the capabilities and training requirements of hardware agents.
- Assist in debugging and troubleshooting RTL designs and verification environments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of training environments and methodologies to better simulate real-world hardware development challenges.
- Document design specifications, verification procedures, and environment configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and reproducibility.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging tools, and verification techniques to enhance project outcomes.
