🌐 Role Overview
As an Experienced Design Engineer at Absolute Composites, you will play a critical role in driving advanced aerospace engineering projects from concept to qualification. This position is ideal for professionals who have hands‑on experience in structural design, composite engineering, and CAD/CAE tools, and are looking to work on cutting‑edge aerospace platforms.
You will lead design tasks, mentor junior engineers, collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams, work in compliance with quality objectives and contribute significantly to the development of next‑generation UAVs and composite airframe structures.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
• Advanced Engineering Design
- Independently develop detailed aerospace structural and composite design solutions.
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and production-ready drawings using industry-standard CAD tools.
• Structural & Engineering Analysis
- Perform preliminary and detailed structural calculations.
- Support FEA, laminate optimization, material selection, and weight reduction studies.
- Review and validate design outputs for manufacturability and performance.
• Cross-Functional Technical Leadership
- Work closely with manufacturing, tooling, quality, and R&D teams to resolve design challenges.
- Drive design reviews, incorporate changes, and ensure design intent is fully realized in production.
• Compliance, Standards & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to AS9100D standards, customer requirements, and internal engineering processes.
- Prepare technical documentation, engineering reports, and change management records.
• Prototype, Testing & Troubleshooting
- Support prototype builds, testing cycles, and validation activities.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes, and implement corrective design actions.
• Mentorship & Process Improvement
- Guide and mentor junior/fresher engineers in design best practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design methodologies and workflows.
🔧 Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of aerospace structures, composite, material & manufacturing process
- Proficiency in Design tools
- Experience with FEA tools preferred
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and engineering drawing standards
- Hands-on experience with composite materials & fabrication processes (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent documentation, technical writing, and cross-functional communication abilities
