About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Design & Development Manager to lead our engineering design team. The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end product design, development, and validation using NX (CAD) and ANSYS (CAE) platforms. This is a leadership role requiring both deep technical expertise and the ability to manage cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions within automotive and adjacent sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
● Lead the complete product design lifecycle — concept development, detailed design, prototyping, and validation — using Siemens NX.
● Direct and oversee CAE simulation activities including structural, thermal, and fatigue analyses using ANSYS.
● Establish and enforce design standards, engineering best practices, and drawing conventions across the team.
● Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) initiatives to optimise cost and quality.
● Manage design reviews, FMEA, DVP&R, and engineering change management processes.
● Lead all new product development and VA VE exercise.
Team Leadership
● Lead, mentor, and develop a team of design engineers and analysts; set clear performance goals and conduct reviews.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Program Management.
● Allocate resources effectively across concurrent projects to meet timelines and deliverables.
Project & Client Management
● Manage design and development projects from RFQ to production release, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
● Interface with OEM and Tier-1 clients for technical discussions, design approvals, and change management.
● Prepare and present engineering proposals, technical reports, and status updates to senior leadership.
Quality & Compliance
● Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, GD&T, ASME, etc.).
● Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for field failures or warranty issues.
● Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the design function.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualification
● B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).
● M.Tech / M.E. in Design, Thermal, or related discipline — preferred but not mandatory.
Work Experience
● Minimum 10 years of industrial experience in Design & Development, with at least 3 years in a managerial / team lead role.
● Proven experience in Automotive industry (OEM / Tier-1 / Tier-2) is mandatory.
● Hands-on experience in NX (Siemens) for CAD modelling, assembly, and drafting — essential.
● Hands-on experience in ANSYS for structural, thermal, or fatigue simulation — essential.
● Exposure to GD&T, DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP, and tolerance stack-up analysis.

● Prior experience in the Aviation / Aerospace industry is a significant added advantage.
● Familiarity with aviation design standards (AS9100, DO-160, MIL-SPEC) will be highly valued.
● Multi-domain exposure across automotive and aviation programs demonstrates higher engineering versatility.
