Role Overview
We are seeking a forward-thinking and detail-oriented Architect – R&D to drive innovation and continuous improvement in residential design and construction processes. This role blends architecture, product thinking, and technology improving efficiency, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations, and enhancing customer experience through research-led initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design Innovation & Development
· Lead research on emerging architectural trends, materials, technologies, and construction methods.
· Develop configurable templates, modules, and libraries for residential projects.
· Create concept prototypes for new product offerings (villa typologies, small homes, premium layouts, etc.).
· Integrate tech-enabled, climate-responsive, and cost-efficient design solutions.
2. Process Optimization
· Work closely with design and execution teams to identify process gaps and implement corrective measures.
· Iterate based on customer feedback, usage data, and execution learnings.
· Stay ahead on global prop-tech, prefab, and modular construction trends.
3. Digital & Technology Integration
· Contribute to building parametric design systems and BIM-based libraries.
· Work on design digitization initiatives including template libraries, Revit families, standardized details etc.
· Evaluate and implement new design tech platforms to improve productivity.
5. Cost & Value Engineering
· Research and recommend cost-effective materials, systems, and construction techniques.
· Collaborate with procurement and execution teams to ensure design-to-cost optimization.
Key Deliverables
· Cost-optimized, modular design solutions
· Standardized digital design libraries (BIM/Revit families)
· Rapid prototype concepts & pilot outputs
· Data-backed design improvements
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s / Master’s in Architecture
· 3–5 years of experience, preferably in:
o Design innovation / R&D
o Prop-tech / startup ecosystem
o Modular / prefab / productized housing
· Strong exposure to BIM, parametric tools, or computational design preferred
Key Skills & Competencies
· Refined aesthetic sense and presentation skills along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Research-driven mindset with attention to detail
· Ability to balance creativity with practicality and cost
· Knowledge of design principles and climate-responsive design
· Excellent documentation and communication skills
