Role Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SolidWorks/CAD Designer to develop innovative and functional designs for hospital furniture and equipment. The candidate will be responsible for creating 3D models, production drawings, and ensuring designs meet industry standards, ergonomics, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks for hospital furniture such as: Hospital Beds etc
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and detailed fabrication drawings
- Work closely with the production team to ensure manufacturability
- Modify existing designs based on client requirements or site conditions
- Conduct design validation and prototyping support
- Maintain proper documentation and version control of drawings
- Coordinate with procurement for material specifications
Skills Requires & Qualifications
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD (2D drafting)
- Understanding of sheet metal, fabrication, and welding processes
- Knowledge of BOM preparation and production drawings
- Familiarity with hospital/office furniture standards (preferred)
- Good understanding of ergonomics and user-centric design
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel for data handling (Extra Prefference for Advanced Excel Knowledge)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D) and Testing methodologies
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Preferable)
- Experience in the healthcare or medical equipment industry is a plus
