Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Management: Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules for the MBF to minimize downtime and ensure optimum equipment reliability.
- Equipment Monitoring: Oversee the performance of critical equipment, including the Blast Furnace shell, charging system, cast house equipment, conveyors, cooling water systems, pumps, and gearboxes.
- Shutdown Planning: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute annual or planned shutdowns.
- Troubleshooting & RCA: Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on mechanical failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Team Leadership: Supervise engineers, technicians, and contract laborers. Assign daily tasks, and mentor personnel on maintenance best practices.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce plant safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit to Work (PTW) systems. Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, track equipment history, and report maintenance KPIs utilizing CMMS or SAP ERP.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: Typically requires 5 to 15+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a heavy manufacturing, steel plant, or MBF environment.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with heavy machinery, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and furnace cooling system
