Experience:
9+ years of relevant experience in an Electrical Design department within the Overhead crane industries.
Soft Skills:
EPLAN Electric, AutoCAD Mechanical
Experience working with PLM systems such as Team center or equivalent software experience.
Key Skills:
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as EPLAN Electric
• Hands-on experience in Teamcenter for design data management and document control
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations (IEC, NEC, IS, CE, UL, CSA, etc.)
• Experience in designing electrical systems for industrial overhead cranes
• Exposure to application-specific crane systems such as:
– Hot metal handling cranes
– Galvanizing plant cranes
– Seashore / coastal environment cranes
– Automation crane like PLC operated crane.
• Experience in power distribution, control panels, and crane electrification systems
• Familiarity with circuit analysis and simulation tools
• Working knowledge of Excel for engineering calculations and reports
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, GA drawings, and technical specifications
• Knowledge of drives, motors, brakes, limit switches, festoon systems, and safety interlocks
• Effective communication and cross-functional coordination skills
• Vendor coordination and technical evaluation capability
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage electrical design activities for crane projects with the design team.
• Prepare and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
• Work in Teamcenter for drawing release, revision control, and documentation management
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations
• Coordinate with Service, Erection & Commissioning, and Production teams for design finalization
• Conduct feasibility studies, design reviews, and risk assessments
• Perform design calculations and optimization of electrical systems
• Select suitable components and prepare BOM for procurement
• Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
• Standardize design practices and maintain design documentation
• Support cost optimization and value engineering initiatives
• Keep updated with advancements in electrical design technology
