Job Title: Deputy General Manager – Accounting
Job Summary
The Deputy General Manager – Accounting will be responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial management. The role involves supervising the accounting team, managing financial statements, budgets, audits, and supporting strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management
Oversee daily accounting operations and financial transactions.
Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Monitor company financial performance and provide insights to senior management.
2. Compliance & Regulatory
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits.
Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, income tax, and other statutory returns.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget utilization and recommend cost control measures.
Provide financial analysis to support business decisions.
4. Team Leadership
Manage and guide the accounting team.
Allocate tasks, review work, and ensure accuracy in financial records.
Train and mentor junior finance staff.
5. Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Present financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
6. Process Improvement
Improve financial systems, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
Implement efficient accounting practices and automation tools where possible.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred.
10–15 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience with ERP systems and accounting software (SAP, Tally, Oracle etc.).
Knowledge of taxation, GST, and statutory compliance.
Excellent leadership and analytical skills.
Strong communication and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Experience
Experience in managing large finance teams.
Experience in corporate accounting or large organizations.
