Deputy Head – Learning & Development

Role Overview

The Deputy Head – Learning & Development will support the organization’s learning strategy by designing structured assessment frameworks, capability-building programs, and learning interventions aligned with business and academic goals.

This role focuses on learning needs assessment, training program design, capability planning, and implementation of leadership and functional development initiatives across the organization.


Key Responsibilities


1. Learning Needs Assessment & Capability Planning

  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) across departments to identify capability gaps.
  • Design structured competency frameworks and skill development roadmaps for key roles.
  • Build capability development plans for teachers, coordinators, principals, operations teams, and leadership roles.
  • Support workforce capability planning aligned with organizational growth goals.


2. Assessment Framework Design

  • Design and implement competency-based assessment frameworks for employees across different roles.
  • Develop pre-training and post-training assessments to measure learning effectiveness.
  • Create evaluation tools, assessment rubrics, and skill benchmarks for leadership and operational roles.
  • Use assessment insights to improve learning interventions and capability development.


3. Learning Program Design & Implementation

  • Design and implement behavioral, leadership, and functional training programs.
  • Support the rollout of classroom, digital, and blended learning interventions.
  • Coordinate with internal and external trainers to deliver high-quality learning programs.
  • Ensure learning initiatives are scalable, practical, and outcome-driven.


4. Leadership & Talent Development Support

  • Assist in designing leadership development programs for mid-level and emerging leaders.
  • Support development initiatives for Management Trainees, Academic Leaders, and Operations Managers.
  • Contribute to building leadership pipelines and succession planning frameworks.


5. Learning Effectiveness & Analytics

  • Track and measure training effectiveness using data and feedback.
  • Analyze assessment results to identify learning impact and skill improvement areas.
  • Generate learning analytics reports for leadership review.
  • Continuously refine learning programs based on insights and organizational needs.
