Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to join us as Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Engineering for our flagship project, The Planet. This role is pivotal in driving end-to-end project execution, ensuring excellence in construction, adherence to timelines, and alignment with quality and safety standards.
The incumbent will bring strong technical acumen, leadership capability, and cross-functional coordination to deliver large-scale developments with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive project plans
- Drive scheduling, resource planning, and milestone tracking
- Ensure timely delivery within defined budget and quality benchmarks
Site Management & Supervision
- Oversee all on-site engineering and construction activities
- Ensure strict adherence to design specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards
- Collaborate effectively with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Manage project budgets and monitor cost performance
- Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality standards
- Review and approve contractor bills, BOQs, and variation claims
Quality & Safety Compliance
- Establish and enforce robust quality control frameworks
- Implement and monitor safety standards and audit mechanisms
- Ensure full compliance with statutory and environmental regulations
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Lead vendor selection, evaluation, and performance management
- Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders and authorities
- Proactively resolve site-level challenges and escalations
Reporting & Governance
- Present periodic MIS reports on project progress and performance
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Lead review meetings with internal teams and senior leadership
Candidate Profile
- 18+ years of experience in engineering and construction
- Minimum 8 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale residential/commercial projects
- Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech/ ME/ M.Tech in Civil Engineering
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects with operational excellence
