Job Title: Lead - CSR and Sustainability (Deputy Director)
Job Summary
We are looking for a visionary and strategic leader to spearhead CSR and Sustainability at the Deputy Director level. As a senior individual contributor, you will steer the "Myntra Cares" initiative and manage a strategic portfolio , developing ecosystem-driven models that integrate our business strengths in e-commerce and fashion with measurable social impact.
Moving beyond standard compliance, you will design flagship community programs and champion our sustainability charter through circular fashion initiatives like Project ReStyle and Myntra for Earth. While on-ground operational execution will be driven by a central team, you will be the strategic architect responsible for cross-functional engagement, rigorous NGO partner governance, and partnering with the leadership to cement Myntra's reputation as a responsible, inclusive corporate citizen.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic CSR Leadership & Budget Ownership: Design and oversee the CSR roadmap across four thematic priorities: education, livelihoods and sustainability. Effectively manage the budget to ensure all programs create scalable, long-term impact rather than episodic interventions.
- Drive the Sustainability & Circularity Charter: Conceptualize high-impact circular fashion initiatives such as Project ReStyle and Cupboard of Care, establishing frameworks for end-to-end textile waste collection and upcycling. Enable scale for conscious consumption through the 'Myntra for Earth' platform.
- Central Team Collaboration: Act as the strategic anchor, directing and collaborating seamlessly with the central operations team responsible for executing the on-ground actions of your CSR and sustainability frameworks.
- Community Outreach & Education: Guide key educational and livelihood pathways, including the MynVidhya Scholarship for garment workers' children, school infrastructure transformations, and inclusive livelihood programs integrating Persons with Disabilities (PwD) into the supply chain.
- Deep Employee Engagement: Cultivate a culture of giving back by strategizing employee volunteering, mentorship initiatives, and payroll-giving programs, aiming to maintain industry-leading internal participation rates.
- Governance & Partner Management: Lead rigorous due diligence, field validation, and compliance checks for all NGO and implementing partners. Ensure strict adherence to the Companies Act, 2013 and financial transparency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Sustainability, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 10-14 years of progressive experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or senior individual contributor role managing CSR, ESG, or Sustainability portfolios at scale.
- Domain Expertise (Sustainability): Deep understanding of the circular economy, textile waste management, and sustainable supply chains. Ability to translate broad sustainability goals into actionable operational realities.
- Matrix Leadership: Exceptional ability to drive results and influence outcomes without direct reporting lines, leveraging the central operations team while building strong advocacy with HR, Corporate Communications, and Business leaders.
- Program & Ecosystem Management: Proven track record of evaluating, onboarding, and managing grassroots NGOs, skill-training academies, and government/civic bodies.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the Companies Act, 2013 CSR mandates, statutory certifications, and governance structures.
- Data & Impact Measurement: Strong analytical skills to implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems that track both qualitative community transformation and quantitative ROI.
Preferred Qualifications (Good-to-Have)
- Previous experience in the e-commerce, retail, or fashion sectors.
- Familiarity with scaling digital-first community platforms (e.g., women entrepreneurship networks).
- Strong pre-existing network of credible sustainability experts and implementing agencies across India.
