Deputy Director –Centre for Counselling and Psychological Wellness (INSIGHT)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counselling support to students, faculty, and staff
- Address mental health concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, academic pressure, and interpersonal issues
- Design and conduct awareness programs on mental health, emotional well-being, and stress management
- Lead crisis intervention and coordinate with external healthcare professionals when required
- Develop and implement preventive and rehabilitative mental health programs
- Oversee mental health support for hostel and residential students
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Centre including team coordination and service delivery
- Collaborate with academic departments and external experts to promote a supportive campus environment
- Organize training and development programs for counselling staff
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of counselling services and wellness initiatives
- Develop and implement policies aligned with ethical and professional standards
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to legal and ethical practices
- Manage resources, maintain records, and prepare reports for institutional review
- Build partnerships with external mental health professionals for comprehensive support
- Ensure inclusive and culturally sensitive mental health services
Qualifications & Eligibility:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Clinical Psychology, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in counselling, mental health services, or institutional wellness programs
- Experience in crisis management, student counselling, and program implementation is essential
- Prior experience in academic institutions or counselling centres will be preferred
- Strong understanding of mental health practices, ethical standards, and counselling frameworks
