Location: Kurla West, Mumbai
We are looking for a highly skilled and dynamic Deputy Manager to join our e-commerce team. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of category creation, strong understanding of e-commerce trends, and consumer behaviour. He will be responsible for managing and growing the allotted category and product range, ensuring we offer a compelling and profitable selection to our customers while maximising sales and margin performance.
Role & responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the overall product strategy, including assortment planning, pricing, and promotional strategies.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from identifying trends, selecting products, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct regular market research and competitive analysis to identify new trends, opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to secure the best prices, products, and terms.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contracts to ensure favourable terms for the company while maintaining product quality and availability.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high service standards.
- Curate and expand the fashion product range based on customer needs, seasonality and market trends.
- Regularly evaluate product performance, adjusting the assortment and pricing as necessary to meet customer demand and drive sales.
- Work closely with the merchandising and inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid out-of-stock situations.
- Analyse sales data and customer feedback to drive product selection and improve sales performance.
- Optimise the product mix to increase conversion rates, average order value (AOV), and overall revenue in the category.
- Collaborate with the e-commerce marketing team to execute promotional campaigns and ensure visibility of key products.
- Work with the creative and content teams to ensure high-quality product listings, including compelling product descriptions, photography, and SEO optimisation.
Additional Skills:
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract negotiation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of apparel/fashion products, trends, and consumer behavior.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in analysing product performance, sales data, and market trends.
- Proficiency in e-commerce platforms and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Excel, SAP, or other inventory/merchandising systems).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
